SUPPORTING RENEWABLES
The battery will support increased amounts of renewable energy in SA by providing grid services – storing low cost energy when the sun is shining and wind is blowing for releasing at times when its needed most, and through helping to deliver a more secure and modern energy system.
LEADING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY
The Blyth Battery is a grid-scale battery that connects to South Australia’s electricity grid via ElectraNet’s existing Blyth West switching station.
The Blyth Battery uses CATL batteries supplied and installed by our project consortium – Elecnor Australia and NHOA Australia.
The Blyth Battery is providing stability for the region by dispatching stored energy to the grid during peak times of demand.
BIG BATTERY EXPERTISE
Neoen are leading the way in delivering big batteries in Australia and around the world.
Neoen’s 150MW Hornsdale Power Reserve , more commonly as the ‘Tesla Big Battery’, has been keeping the lights on and electricity costs low for South Australians, since 2017.
We have also built and now operate Collie Battery in WA and Western Downs Battery in QLD.
